The District of Columbia Cancer Action Partnership (CAP)

Purpose and Guiding Principles:

Using lessons learned from prior cancer partnerships, results from partner surveys, and insights from multiple state and local partnerships across the U.S., the CAP has adopted four overarching primobolan for sale in usa principles to build a partnership that is inclusive, transparent and productive:

 Adopt structural and operational processes that facilitate and enable progress, not hinder it;

  • Assure all members have equal voices;
  • Make evidence based decisions; and,
  • Communicate the diverse needs of District residents.

 

Leadership Team

The Cancer Action Partnership (CAP) Leadership Team provides strategic planning and guidance for the Cancer Action Partnership.  Leadership team members are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the vision, mission and purpose of the Partnership
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration and coordination between action teams
  • Identifying gaps in CAP Membership, recruiting buy andriol and encouraging members to be actively engaged in the Partnership
  • Defining policies and procedures so that the Partnership is able to be effective and efficient.
  • Reviewing and monitoring Action Team progress toward meeting selected goals and objectives
  • Providing Support to facilitate Action Team progress
  • Ensuring mechanisms for bi-directional and transparent communication from and to the general membership.

District of Columbia Comprehensive Cancer Control Staff

The DC Cancer Action Partnership staff is composed of individuals from the DC Department of Health.  This team supports the everyday operations of the Partnership by convening meetings, managing communications activities and supporting Action Teams.

Dr. Lori Wilson Appointed Commission of Cancer (CoC) State Chair for the Metropolitan Washington DC Chapter

The DC Cancer Action Partnership (DC CAP) is pleased to announce Dr. Lori Wilson of Howard University has been appointed State Chair of the Commission of Cancer Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter.

In her position, Dr. Wilson will join a community of other state chairs integrated in a network across the country that will allow her to learn and share best practices that can help control cancer in DC.

“We were thrilled to learn of Dr. Wilson's appointment. With her role as a State Chair member as well as our partnership with the Commission of Cancer, we as a city can continue to take steps to reduce the burden of cancer in the DC community,” said DC CAP Co-Chair Fernando Ascencio.


DC Cancer Action Partnership to Co-Host DC’s First Cancer Moonshot Summit

The DC Cancer Action Partnership (DC CAP) is pleased to announce that alphabol it will co-sponsor DC’s Cancer Moonshot 2016 Summit along with the DC Department of Health, American Cancer Society, and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.

As part of DC’s Cancer Moonshot Summit, a live simulcast of Vice President Biden's remarks at the National Cancer Moonshot Summit in DC will be broadcast along with a program agenda that will include discussions around strategies for risk reduction of cancer in the District.

“We are excited to be co-hosting this important initiative,” said DC CAP Co-Chair Fernando Ascenio. “We invite the DC community to join us next week to share and discuss how we can better accelerate progress in cancer prevention and treatment here in the District.”

The DC Cancer Moonshot Summit is a free event, and will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 8am to 12.30pm at One Judiciary Square (441 4th Street, NW, Suite 1107; Washington, DC 20001).

The DC Cancer Action Partnership welcomes all residents of the DC community to join us in our mission to reduce the cancer burden in the District.  Our current membership is composed of cancer survivors, caregivers, patient advocates, organizations across the cancer continuum, government and policy makers.

The DC Cancer Action Partnership has two levels of membership engagement.

 CAP Members:

  • Participate in regular meetings
  • Communicate Partnership goals and activities within their community/organization
  • Participate in collaborative Action Team/ Partnership activities
  • Identify and provide resources where appropriate to support Action Team/Partnership activities

 CAP Partners

  • Receive CAP Communication
  • Support CAP Activities (i.e., supporting policy initiatives, etc.)
